CITATION FOR MOTH TONY MUNNIK,OLD BILL OF THE ORDER 2012 – 2013
MOTH Anthony George Ellwyn Munnik, known to his friends as Tony was born at Wankie in Rhodesia on 25 May 1944. He served in the Rhodesian Air Force from 1961 to 1979 in the Territorial as well as on active service. He specifically served in the Rhodesian operation areas from 1972 to 1979.
He is the recipient of the Rhodesian General Service Medal, Long Service Medal Territorial. Tony then decided to come to South Africa and joined the MOTH on 30 May 1990 . He joined KUM- A KYE also know as K.A.K. and still is serving with this Shellhole.

Currently a member of the Full National Executive as Vice Chairman KZN.
During his term as Old Bill of Mainline District Tony not only fulfilled his duties but he also regularly visited the Shellholes in the District at their monthly meetings. He also ensured that he attended social functions. His efforts were the cause of a resurgence of Mothdom, not only in the District but wherever he goes.
Tony has been a leading light in the Twilight Raiders’ Group and at all visists near and far, he has been the main speaker in promoting the Order and encouraged recruiting. Together with the Old Bill of Twilght Shellhole, Tony was the main mover in arranging the MOTH 70th , 75th and 80th anniversaries and parades in Durban in 1997, 2002, 2007.
Tony was also Chairman Warriors Gate Committee which task he carried out diligently and ensured that the Buildings and surrounds were admirably looked after.

Up until his retirement he was employed as the chief technician at the University of Natal. |
