INVITATION TO MOTH CLUBS TO ATTEND STARS OF SANDSTONE EVENT
Sandstone’s annual event is internationally accepted as being almost unique in terms of the diversity of heritage items that are on display. One of the hidden gems of Sandstone has always been our Military vehicle collection that has been built up over many years in close association with the School of Armour in Bloemfontein, with whom we work closely on a daily basis.
This year we are featuring our Military vehicle collection as one of the primary attractions at the Stars of Sandstone event.
For the first time ever we are now advertising on the international market and are hoping to attract international Military vehicle enthusiasts and collectors. A specialised advertisement covering our Military vehicle activities appears below.
We readily accept that South Africans are not in a position to pay the same type of comprehensive entry fee that would be paid by a foreigner attending the entire event. We have therefore put together some very special packages for organisations which involves a much more reasonable daily rate.
Unfortunately the cost of mounting an event like this are considerable, mostly due to the high fuel consumption that we have to fund. Nonetheless, if individual members of MOTH Clubs or groups of members would like to attend we would be happy to offer them a programme that would give them an opportunity to participate in our Military vehicle activities.
All our events are by invitation only because we seek to invite people with a real knowledge of what they are looking at. Many of our guests are also participants in the sense that they are allocated vehicles to operate and to take part in Military vehicle convoys etc. which are under the direct control of Officers from the Armour Formation.
