Red Barn/Tavern of the Seas Shellhole
Formed in 1944 with 5 members. The name Red Barn was derived from stories brought back by soldiers from WW1. A barn with a red roof was situated behind the trenches and was used as a First Aid station and a place of rest and peace. Tavern of the Seas is a name given to Cape Town during the Second World War by visiting sailors and troops on troopships on transit.

The Tavern is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 16h00 to 21h00 and every Sunday from 12h00 to 19h00. Braai fires are available every Sunday from 13h00 (weather permitting). Braai packs are available from the bar at a reasonable price.
