Sunset Call: Moth Peter Drayton 14 June 2019

Moth General Headquarters, Cape Western Provincial Dugout and Red Barn/T.O.T.S. Shellhole regret to announce the passing to Higher Service of Moth Peter Drayton on 14th June 2019.

Moth Drayton served in the South African Navy for over 45 years, retiring as WO1 IN 2005. While in the Navy, he was recognised as a sportsman of some note, achieving SADF Colours for both Boxing and Soccer (he was a qualified Boxing judge) and was a Life Member of the Western Province Cricket Club.

Moth Drayton joined the Order in August 1998 at Red Barn/T.O.T.S. Shellhole and served on various posts in his time. He served as the Provincial Adjutant between 2008 and 2013. A quietly diligent individual, committed to his tasks and a stickler for the rules, Moth Peter proved himself to be as staunch a member as any of Cape Western Dugout and of the Order. For his effort, he was awarded the Certificate of Comradeship (2002), the Certificate for Excellent Service (2007) and a special Certificate of Sincere Appreciation by the Provincial Dugout in 2014. He will be missed by all who knew him, and our condolences go out to his family.

At the Going Down of the Sun
And in the Morning
We Will Remember Him.
